Pat enjoying Happy Hour

We asked our Campers “What were your favorite parts?” and they said:

“Being totally taken care of – walks, field trips and the food was wonderful and healthy with just the right amount of chocolate thrown in.” – Sherry, August 2010

“Happy Hour” – Kristina, October 2011

“I enjoyed…the camaraderie of every person that blossomed everyday… You are exceptional women of genuine warmth!  Thank you SO MUCH!” – Memory, October 2010

“The large supply of materials was great!” – Jan, October 2010

“I can’t pick a favorite – I enjoyed everything!” – Karen, October 2011

Lorri (one of the Art Camp partners) and Sharon - working a beeswax collage

“The camaraderie of like minded people, the hands on “get your hands dirty” and do it.  The great assistance if there are any questions, the sharing of knowledge.” – Connie, October 2011

We asked, “Have you attended other art retreats?  How does this compare?”

“I have attended one other week-long art school-retreat.  Although I have loved both, this camp was so much more relaxing because of the extracurricular activities – yoga, walks, etc. and convenient because all art supplies are provided.  We always had exactly what we needed at our fingertips.” - Karen, October 2011

Relaxing during the Homestead tour

“Yes, this was much better” – Crystal, October 2011

“No, but I chose this (Art Camp) because I didn’t want the hassle of making individual arrangements AND the women only and age range appealed to me.” Virginia – May 2011

“Yes – Actually I feel the other one that I went to was not structured well.  This one was “actually” perfect!” – Julie – May 2011

“Far superior to any other retreat I’ve attended.” – Jody, May 2011

“Yes, Your’s last fall.  Really enjoyed the increased art space (we also listen to your suggestions!).” -  Pat, May 2011

Toast to creativity and friendship!

We asked, “If you were talking to a friend, what would you tell her about Art Camp?”

Kelli and Lou caught in a silly moment

“Wow! It was really worth every penny and then some. The teachers were extremelyl knowledgeable. All taught just the way we needed to be instructed. Hands on was fabulous! All of the students were exceptionally personable the whole time!” – Julie, May 2011

“A perfect art experience and get away. Small, intimate, friendly, great instruction, beautiful, delicious food and setting. Lots of time to create and relax.” Kathy, August 2010

“Art Camp FAR EXCEEDED my expectations!” Dani, June 2009

“The inspiration and the time to work on something new. I loved that!” Nancy, October 2008

“(Camp) was one of my most wonderful life experiences.  The women were all so interesting.  The teachers were so very supportive and encouraging…I was a bit nervous before I came but after an hour here I was totally comfortable and eager to get started.  The choice of materials they provided to work with was phenomenal.”  Joyce, Oct 2010

Homemade cookies coming right up!

“The experience was so much more than I expected. Wonderful hospitality. The classes were well taught with much individual help, instruction and encouragement. Our accommodations were very comfortable and the meals were spectacular. The instructors soon became friends as well as the other participants. It was a very nurturing atmosphere. I can’t recommend it enough. Having attended other large art workshops, this one was by far the very BEST!” Gail, June 2009

We bring lots of art books and magazines to enjoy in the evening!

“Sometimes women need not only the permission to be creative – we know, on some level, that we have that – but the grace to be creative as well, and incentive and even a push. Art Camp for Women gives us all of the above plus freedom from all of our ingrained excuses. We will allow our responsibilities; to family, housework, meals, dishes, friends, even television viewing, to distract us from what our soul yearns to do. Art Camp shuts those responsibilities out of our lives and says, “Listen to your soul.” Lucy, October 2009

“My most favorite thing – meeting a group of women who were open, supportive, honest and fun! I came not knowing anyone and was comfortable with the group from the very beginning…Women artists – you so deserve this!” Katy, June 2009

“My experience at Art Camp was way beyond what I was hoping for.   While driving to camp I was wondering, “What am I doing?!”  After arriving, I was immediately brought in with a welcome, creative energy that will stay with me always.  The food was fabulous! The hospitality of the Art Camp ladies was unbelievable.  Every detail was well thought out.  It is worth every dollar and then some.”  Jill, June 2009

“Having the opportunity to spend a week of creativity, fun, sharing, outdoor experiences, wonderful camaraderie and tons of laughter and joy was an absolute blessing in every way for me. Thank you so much!!!” Kai, October 2007

“I feel like my soul was opened up and set free.  So it’s not only expanding your artistic possibilities, it’s also opening your heart.  I feel expanded and light hearted going home and ready to make my art schedule.”  Gayleen, June 2009
