Why do you call it Art Camp?
You will experience all of the joys of your childhood camp: new friends from other places, fun physical exercise, and great adventures while obtaining new skills.
However, now that we are women, we have upgraded from funky cabins to a beautiful streamlined lodge with full amenities. The food, too, has grown up and you will not want to miss a single meal or snack!

What is Snow Mountain Ranch?
It is a YMCA camp located 7 miles outside of the Winter Park Ski Area. Snow Mountain Ranch caters to groups and families interested in experiencing the year-round Rocky Mountain wilderness and beauty. On it's acreage there are lodges, private homes, an indoor pool, a recreation center, stables*, a dining hall* and miles of trails for hiking.
*Art Camp guests will not be using the dining hall because gourmet meals will be provided and cooked in our lodge. Stables will be closed during our camp times.

How do I get there?
A shuttle runs from Denver International Airport and costs approximately $63 one way. There are discounts for parties of 3 or more. Call 800-359-7503 or go to Home James Transportation for times and reservations. You won't need a car once you are at the ranch, but you are welcome to bring one or drive up.

What will the weather be like?
Spring and fall in the Rockies provide warm, sunny days and cool nights. It is possible to have snow in the surrounding mountains. You'll have spectacular views of snow capped mountains in the distance contrasting with the color of the Aspen trees cascading down the hillsides.

What should I bring?
Bring casual clothing you can layer for warmth, walking/hiking shoes, a bathing suit and towel for the hot springs and a good attitude!
All water media and fabric art class supplies will be provided. You are welcome to bring your favorite tools or supplies to work on your own projects in your spare time.
Do not forget to bring your camera and your favorite journal.
