Just a little bit more than your toothbrush!
We are assuming you are an adult and know what you need for a week away from home. This list is just to point out things you might not think of, not having been in the Colorado Mountains before. Snow Mountain Ranch provides all towels and linens.
Casual is the dress code for the week! You will never need a skirt, heels, gems or a curling iron.
WHAT TO BRING:
Layers of clothing and sunglasses - the weather can be cool and crisp to hot and sunny…all in one day. For your comfort, it’s best to bring layers so you can add or shed as the weather dictates. We are in the Rocky Mountains – we recommend that you bring a warm jacket.
Two pair of shoes – hiking or athletic/casual shoes for outside and another pair (or slippers) to wear inside. Depending on the weather, it could be muddy and we want to keep the lodge as clean as possible. You, of course, are not limited to 2 pair of shoes.
Warm Jacket – The outdoors are glorious here. A warm jacket, hat and gloves, if you want, make it doable in any spring or fall weather.
Pajamas – warm pajamas are great for lounging by the fireplace or going to breakfast.
Water bottle – at high altitude it’s important to drink water (we have very low humidity here). We will have a water stand available at all times for you to fill your water bottle, so please bring one with your name on it so we don’t drive the dishwasher to exhaustion!
Your camera – You will most likely take many pictures, bring a spare memory card or something to download pictures to. Don’t forget any necessary cables and battery chargers.
Flashlight – You may be walking from building to building (short distances) after dark, bring a flashlight.
Binoculars – optional, but nice to have if you are planning to walk or hike the grounds.
Some money – for shopping, extra shipping or purchasing Guest Artist’s books etc.
Personal items – At high altitude, the air is dry and everyone burns faster than they are used to, even tan people. In addition to your regular toiletries, we suggest lotion, sunscreen, lip balm, and eye drops. You might also like to have earplugs and Ibuprofen (or your headache reliever of choice).
As always, you’re welcome to email us at if you have any questions about what to bring.
